As I read the book, I found the recipes tantalizing – I can’t wait to try them out. This simple to understand field guide will remove your fears, and open your eyes to a hidden bounty of nature that is ready to be harvested on your next hike through the woods. It’s also a great way to open the gastronomical doors to the kids or grandchildren. Dwight Thornton loves mushrooms and imparts his knowledge and passion in a gentle humorous way. Once you’ve read the book, you will feel that he has become a friend. I’m looking forward to another book on fiddleheads possibly… I was 26 before I tried them, granny didn’t like those either.”

Product review Verified purchase“When I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014, I was determined to include natural products into my treatment protocol. Top of the list was the use of medicinal mushrooms, and in particular Chaga. After some online research for a reputable Canadian source for Chaga, I discovered Fiddlehead Heaven. I have been a regular customer since then, and integrated the use of Chaga tea into my daily routine. There is always a crockpot of Chaga tea simmering on my counter and I and my husband drink 1-3 cups daily. The only issue is travelling, where it becomes more difficult to maintain this regime. The chaga crystals tea has been a godsend. I can now continue to adhere to my healing regime of using Chaga tea anytime we travel by simply adding the crystals to boiling water. Wonderful! Chaga tea is a very pleasant drink, and the crystal form of the tea has not altered the flavor in any way. And the fact that all medicinal/nutritional benefits are retained in this new form is extremely important to me. I cannot say enough good about Fiddlehead Heaven as a supplier. Their products (I buy their Chaga tea grind and have purchased their Turkey Tail mushrooms) are excellent and are locally and sustainably sourced. Their customer service is wonderful. If I have questions I have been able to communicate directly with them. And now with the development of this new product, I am able to continue using Chaga tea wherever I travel and for as long as I am away with the convenience of the Chaga tea crystals.
